Thomas Joseph Knott, 72, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at the Morning Sun Care Center after a short illness. Private family services and interment will take place at a later date. Thomas Joseph Knott was born Sept. 22, 1948, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of John Melvin and Roberta (Lynn) Knott. He attended school in Washington, Iowa, graduating from high school in 1967.

Following high school, Tom worked at McCleery Cumming Co. for many years until its closing. He later worked in the maintenance department at the University of Iowa for a short time and lastly at Pizza Hut in Washington, Iowa.

Tom is survived by two children, Jacob and Katrina Knott; six grandchildren; mother, Roberta Lynn Knott Lenninger of Washington, Iowa; sister, Linda (Dale) Creeley of Brandon, Vermont; sister, Joanne (Wayne) Chalupa of Washington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his father, John Knott; brother, Harry Knott; and a nephew, Christopher Gerot.
