Thomas L. Allen

KALONA - Thomas L. Allen, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, in the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a lingering illness.

      Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with the Rev. Beth Miller officiating. The body has been cremated. A burial will be held at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Kinross. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and run until the service time in the funeral home.

      Mr. Allen was born Dec. 8, 1935 in Wellman, the son of Gilbert and Alverda (Marek) Allen. He married Mary Della Ballard on Sept. 7, 1963.
