Thomas Wichhart October 11, 1944 - August 10, 2003

Floyd Delbert Burden, 101, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2003, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

      A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 at Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Marc Hershberger officiating. A private family burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery prior to the service. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with no family visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Pleasant View Mennonite Church.

      Survivors include his wife of Arbor Court; a daughter, Jean and her husband Vernon Roth of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Kenneth and his wife Betty Burden of New London, Bill and his wife Jean Burden of Conroe, Texas, and Gary and his wife Cathy Burden of Morning Sun; two daughters-in-law, Rosemary Burden and Patricia Burden, both of Mt. Pleasant; and 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; four sons, Lowell, Dick, Jack and Bob Burden; a brother, Lowell Burden; a sister, Marie Burden; and a grandson and two infant grandchildren.
