Thresa Marie Kuntz, age 53, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital, following a courageous six-month battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the funeral home, with the family present to receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A general memorial has been established. Thresa was born on May 18, 1972, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis P. and Sherry Lin (Wenger) Ives. She graduated from Washington High School in 1991. On June 20, 2015, Thresa was united in marriage to Jeremy Kuntz in Washington. She was previously married to Thomas Moeller.
Thresa worked as a paraeducator for the Washington Community School District and at the Washington Community YMCA daycare. She previously worked at Hy-Vee Food Store and had managed a daycare center in her home.
Thresa was raised in the Catholic Faith. She enjoyed working with kids, tending to her garden, and doing yardwork. She also loved attending the races in Knoxville and was a devoted fan of the Iowa State Cyclones. Most of all, Thresa cherished her time with her grandchildren.
Thresa is survived by her husband, Jeremy, of Washington, Iowa; her two sons, Spencer (Halie) Moeller and Dalton Moeller and his fiancée Reaghan, both of Washington, Iowa; grandchildren, Eli, Emmie, and Elainey; parents, Dennis and Sherry Ives of Washington, Iowa; brother, Chuck (Toni) Ives of Washington, Iowa; four nieces and nephews: Patrick, Kaley, Kaylee, and Jacob; along with two great-nieces, Harper and Lydia; and many loving in-laws.
