Tim D. McAllister

Tim Dean McAllister, 47, of Mt. Union, died Thursday, Feb. 7, at his home.

His body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Mt. Union United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating. There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established for his children's education. Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born Nov. 9, 1960, the son of Keith and Marcille Smith McAllister. He was married to Cindy Ingersoll.

Having attended Winfield-Mt. Union High School, he was a graduate of Oxford Academy in Connecticut and Southeastern Community College in West Burlington with degrees in agriculture and welding. He was employed in several fields, including farming, construction, Denver Power Line in Denver, Colo., Ceco and Heatlilator in Mt. Pleasant, Burlington Northern Railroad in West Burlington, Iowa Interstate Railroad in Iowa City, and Hawkeye Group in Mediapolis.

He was involved in earlier years in 4-H and FFA.

He is survived by his wife; four sons; Brandon McAllister of Colorado, Jacob Lox of Fairfield, Ryan McAllister and Trevor McAllister of Mt. Union; one daughter, Sara McAllister of Mt. Union; his mother; two brothers, Kenneth McAllister of Mt. Union and Travis McAllister of Burlington; one sister, Pamela Smith of Iowa City; and three grandchildren.

His father preceded him in death.
