COLUMBUS JUNCTION ? Tim Mincks, 60, of Columbus Junction, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
The memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Joseph Sia officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Following the Mass, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Louisa County Fairgrounds Youth Center in Columbus Junction. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, May 16, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. A general memorial has been established at the funeral home.
Timothy Ernest Mincks was born April 22, 1956, in Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, the son of Jack and Louise (Parker) Mincks. He married Lois Hargrafen on Oct. 22, 1983, in Ardon.
He graduated from Davis County High School in 1974, earned an Associate of Applied Science degree from MCC, a degree in feed and fertilizer marketing and a general agriculture degree with emphasis on business, from Northeast Missouri State University. He had worked at the Oakdale Correctional Facility for the past 10 years, retiring in July 2015. Prior to that, he owned and operated Mincks Agri Center in Columbus Junction for over 15 years. He also worked at Weber and Huston of Columbus Junction, Oakville Feed and Grain, and at the grain elevators in Crawfordsville and Wellman. He was a member of St. Joseph Church. He was an FFA Alumni member and 4-H leader of JCAB. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, traveling 49 states, mowing the yard, watching Westerns, and he especially loved going to his children?s sporting events and activities during their school years.
Surviving are his wife, Lois, of Columbus Junction; three children, Ann Mincks of Des Moines, Philip Mincks and wife Maureen of Letts, and Laura Mincks of Columbus Junction; one grandson; his mother, Louise Mincks of Bloomfield; three siblings, Jack J. Mincks and wife Brenda of Mitchellville, Mary Russell of Bloomfield, and Bob Mincks and wife Patricia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Harry and Mary Parker; and his paternal grandparents, William ?Ernie? and Vira Mincks.
