Timothy James Heusel, 62, of New London, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice, West Burlington. He was born in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois, on February 9, 1961. Logan Henry and Miriam Carleen Hackman Heusel adopted him in December of 1962 from the Lake Bluff Children’s Home, Chicago, Illinois, after having him as a foster child for over a year.

He was a 1979 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and a member of The United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. On April 14, 1984, he married Julie Lynn Ganka in Arlington, Texas. She died December 6, 2010.

He worked as a truck driver for Aldi Foods, West Burlington, and at Ideal Concrete, Mt. Pleasant. Tim very much enjoyed riding his Harley, watching NASCAR, attending races especially at Knoxville, and time visiting with all of his friends.

Tim is survived by his son Joshua (Charity) Heusel of Burlington; his beloved terrier Tug; and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, grandparents, and brother Eric Bryan.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and a private family inurnment will be held at Burge Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Julie.
