Timothy Lee “Tim” Temple, age 72, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024, following a sudden illness.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Valley Cemetery in rural Washington County. Memorials have been established for the American Red Cross and the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be sent for Tim’s family at jonesfh.com.
Tim was born July 24, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Sikke and Beulah (Stewart) Temple. He graduated from Keota High School in 1970 and attended Iowa State University.
After his return to Washington, Tim worked for Hanson Construction and later farmed in the Washington area. He also worked for Miller Construction and drove over the road truck for several area farmers. Tim enjoyed Enduro Racing and helped organize many events. He belonged to a local bike riding club and enjoyed going on RAGBRAI. He taught swim lessons at the Washington Community Y for many years. He was a member of the American Red Cross and worked in the medical area at the Washington County Fair. Tim never missed an opportunity to donate blood, always giving every opportunity that he could to help others in need. He enjoyed hunting, going to farm machinery auctions and eating pie.
Tim is survived by special friend, Dona Lane of Columbus Junction, IA; nine siblings: Bruce (Janette) Temple of Ainsworth, IA; Mary Temple of Washington, IA; Barbara (Dennis) Cozad of Pleasant Hill, IA; Katie (Al Reeve) Temple of Runnells, IA; Evelyn (Francis) Greiner of Keota, IA; Jeff (Shirley) Temple of Crawfordsville, IA; Peter (Marty) Temple of Moorhead, IA; Warren (Sheila) Temple of Keota, IA; Dr. Beth (John Kirk) Temple of Rock Island, IL; sister-in-law, Jo Temple of Oskaloosa, IA; 24 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dr. David Temple.
