Timothy Dean Zear, 66, of Washington, died Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. His body has been cremated and a celebration of his life will

be at a later date. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Service

is assisting his family. Memorials in his name may be designated to the American Cancer Society or the Optimist Club of Washington

Tim was born March 26, 1954, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Lyle Dean and Edith LaVon (Rich) Zear. He graduated from Washington High School.

He became a realtor in 1998 and worked in Jacksonville, Fla., before moving back to Washington in 2006 and joined with Elliot Realty Group in Washington. He was active with the Optimist Club of Washington and enjoyed reading, spending time with family and his dog, Bailey.

Survivors include siblings, Jeff Zear (Nancy) of Iowa City, Chad Zear (Michelle) of Washington, Shelley Hayes of Washington and Jacque Trude of Montana City, Mont.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and

great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
