Todd Edward Montgomery, born on January 16, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on October 2, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and love that touched all who knew him.
Todd was the beloved son of Alice Faye Dohnal Montgomery and the late William Worth Montgomery. He was a cherished brother to Scott Montgomery, Dawn Montgomery Turner, and his late sister, Lisa Montgomery MacDonald.
He was the proud and devoted father of William Edward Montgomery and Allison Elisabeth Montgomery, who were the lights of his life. His love and guidance will continue to inspire them in all that they do. Todd also shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, Liza Turner Wood (husband Steven), Trevor Turner, and Quentin Turner. He delighted in the joys of being a great-uncle to Liza and Steven’s children, Porter, Turner, and Hattie, whom he adored.
Todd was a man of many passions and talents. His love for adventure took him across the country, particularly on his bike during the Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa RAGBRAI, a journey he cherished and repeated several times. He found joy in NASCAR racing, often sharing that enthusiasm with friends and family. As a licensed pilot, Todd took to the skies with the same sense of freedom and wonder that defined his life.
Professionally, Todd was a skilled network engineer whose expertise was highly respected. He worked at companies such as Gandalf Data, RTS Distributors, Perseus Labs, and Accenture. He also contributed to the field by authoring several technical manuals, including the *AWS Certified Advanced Networking Study Guide* and *CompTIA Cloud+ Exam CV0-002*. His work left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the broader technology community.
Above all, Todd will be remembered for his generous spirit, his quick wit, and the way he embraced life with an open heart. He loved to explore the world, connect with others, and was always ready to lend a hand. His presence brought warmth and laughter, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
As we remember Todd, let us celebrate the adventures he lived, the wisdom he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Victor, Iowa on Sunday, June 29 at 12:00 p.m., where he’ll be laid to rest. The public is invited. The family accepts prayers in lieu of flowers. A reception will be held following internment at the Victor American Legion Hall.
