Tommy D. Bradley
Tommy D. Bradley, 89, of Fairfield, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2014, at Great River Care Center in McGregor.
The funeral is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev.Mike Christensen officiating.Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Hospitals, the Disabled American Veterans or to The Lord?s Cupboard in Fairfield.Online condolences can be sent to www.raymondfuneralhomes.com.
Mr. Bradley was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Fairfield, the son of Arthur ?Fred? and Nevada Shondel Bradley. He married Mary Belle Anderson Dec. 31, 1947, in Fairfield. She died Dec. 9, 2009.
Mr. Bradley was a lifetime resident of Fairfield. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1941 and attended the University of Maryland prior to entering the U.S. Army serving with the 102nd Infantry from 1941-1946. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
He was foundry supervisor at The Dexter Company before his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
He enjoyed woodworking and especially intarsia.
Survivors include daughter Tammy D. Hill and husband Sut of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; son Tommy J. Bradley and wife Sheryl of Naperville, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister Ann Edwards of Washington, Iowa; and four brothers: John Bradley of Palm Coast, Fla., Jack Bradley of Fairfield, Jerry Bradley of Mt. Pleasant and Mike Bradley of Red Lyon, Pa.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Phyllis Kelton and Linda Vorhies; and three brothers: Pete, Jim and Charles Bradley.
