Timothy L. "Tim"
Hummell, 66, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A celebration of life for Tim will be held from 6 to
9 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, at the Veterans Hall, 103 S. Jackson St. in Mt. Pleasant.
A flag presentation will be conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard at the celebration. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Timothy LaVerne Hummell was born October 8, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant. He was the son of Arnold LaVerne and Shirley Louise (Scott) Hummell. He attended school in Mt. Pleasant and joined the United States Marine Corps following his education. On July 14, 1972, in Olongapo, Philippines, Tim married Ligaya "Ruby" Tupas Musica.
Tim did a lot of farm work as a youth. He farmed for his grandparents before working for Hummell's Tree Service for his dad. Tim worked as a Correctional Office for the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility and as a reject butcher for IBP in Columbus Junction. For many years, Tim worked at Metromail and later Alaniz as a machine operator, stock handler and group leader.
Tim was of the Christian Faith and a member of the American Legion Robert Tribby Post 58 of Mt. Pleasant. He was known in his family to be a "Newshound."
Those thankful for sharing in Tim's life include his wife, Ruby of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Michael Tupas Hummell, Noah Tupas Hummell, and wife, Wendy and Noel Jeffrey Hummell, all of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers and their wives, Michael and Marie Hummell of Eldon, IA, and Kelly and Christ Hummell of Boone, IA; eight grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
His parents precede him in death.
