Tori Lynn Palmer, 62, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Bird House in Iowa City.
Celebration of Life services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Washington, with Andrew Zuehlke officiating. The family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to services at the First Baptist Church. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County or Priscilla’s Place Teen and Adult Challenge. Online condolences may be sent for Tori’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Tori was born September 1, 1961, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Bud and Glenys (Climer) Clark. She graduated from Vinton High School and received her nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College. Tori was united in marriage to Marvin Palmer on August 10, 2008, in Washington, Iowa.
Tori worked at Geico in Iowa City; Farm Bureau in Washington and later worked at Cambridge Investments in Fairfield, Iowa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was previously the Sunday School Superintendent and enjoyed teaching Sunday School lessons. Tori was proud to have learned sign language and enjoyed volunteering at Hamaku Place teaching kids to “sign” songs.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Palmer of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Amanda Reifenstahl and significant other Joe Hittner of Detroit, Oregon; daughter, Erin Bodkins and husband Nathan of Washington, Iowa; son, Ryan Steinberg and wife Morgan of Washington, Iowa; son, Eric Palmer of Portland, Oregon; mother, Glenys Clark of Washington, Iowa; sister, Jessa Gehrke and husband Tom of Johnston, Iowa; sister, Holli Zuehlke and husband Andrew of Washington, Iowa; one niece, five nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tori was preceded in death by her father, Bud Clark.
