Truman Beckler
Truman Beckler, 82, of rural Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at his home near Wayland.
The committal service will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at Bethel Cemetery in Wayland, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 11 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church in Wayland, with Pastors Phil Slabaugh and Herb Yoder officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 at the church, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to Bethel Mennonite Church and Great River Hospice of Burlington. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald and his wife Patty Beckler of Webster, N.Y.; three daughters, Mary and her husband Roger Stutzman of Buhl, Idaho, Jane and her husband Fred Leichty of rural Mt. Pleasant, and Elaine and her husband Gordon Stutzman of Filer, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Delmar and his wife Mildred Beckler of Noble, and Clifford Beckler of Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Naomi and her husband Glen Roth of Albany, Ore., and Opal Hamilton of Sheridan, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ardis Byers; and a brother in infancy.
