Twila C. Hunter

      Twila C. Hunter, 88, formerly of Brighton, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at McCreedy Home in Washington.

      A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brighton United Church in Brighton, with the Rev. Sallie Graves officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

      Open visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

      Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society, McCreedy Home, Hospice of Washington County and Brighton United Church.

      Mrs. Hunter was born March 20, 1920, southeast of Brighton, the daughter of Andrew Lee and Edith M. Essley Stacy. She married Lawrence E. Hunter Dec. 24, 1939, in Des Moines. He died Aug. 11, 1995.
