URSULA MARGARET RYAN

Ursula Margaret Ryan, 80, former resident of Stoneham and Arlington, Massachusetts, passed away on April 23, 2022. Ursula was born on January 3, 1942, in Stuttgart, Germany. She graduated from Stuttgart American High School, and in 1962 moved to the United States with her parents, Margaret Schmerer Galera and Charles Galera, where her father was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1963 Ursula moved to Boston, MA.

Ursula married the late William P. Ryan at Holy Trinity Church in Boston, on June 10, 1967. She retired after more than thirty years working in the Housekeeping Department at Winchester Hospital. Fluent in both English and German, Ursula had a fun-loving spirit, and in her leisure time enjoyed singing in the church choir, travelling, spending time at the beach, socializing with friends, and reading.

Ursula is survived by her sister, Linda Galera of Columbus, GA, and her daughter, Maureen Ryan of Manchester, NH. Ursula is the sister-in-law of Fred Ryan of Washington, Iowa.

Ursula's Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, April 30 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Manchester, NH. A Requiem Mass will be offered for Ursula's happy repose on Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church in Washington, Iowa, followed by interment at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
