Valma Spicher

KALONA - Valma Spicher, 96, of Kalona, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona with the Rev. Lynn Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be directed to the Kalona United Methodist Church, Pleasantview Home, Kalona First Responders or Iowa City Hospice.

      Mrs. Spicher was born Oct. 4, 1912, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Aaron Burr and Susie (Brenneman) Gingerich. She married George Spicher in October 1932 at the family home.
