Velda Mae Fritzjunker
Velda Mae Fritzjunker, 67, of Fort Madison, died at 11:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Fort Madison Health Center.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Sts. Joseph and Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison with Rosary at 3 p.m. Friday, family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and a wake service at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery of Fort Madison. Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Fritzjunker was born May 21, 1933, at Niota, Ill., the daughter of Jay and Bernice Sharp Dalrymple. She married Joseph O. Fritzjunker Aug. 13, 1955, in Fort Madison. She was a homemaker, worked at Northwestern Bell for five years, then worked at the Fort Madison Daily Democrat for ten years. She was a member of Sts. Mary and Joseph Church, loved to read, and enjoyed embroidering.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; three sons, Kevin and Yvonne Fritzjunker of Bonaparte, Mike and Ruthanne Fritzjunker of Claremore, Okla., and Gary and Monica Fritzjunker of Fort Madison; two brothers, Howard Dalrymple and Wilber Dalrymple, both of Fort Madison; two sisters, Mary Alice and Paul Woods and Esther and Billie Drollinger, both of Fort Madison; three grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and two sons.
