Velma Christner Yoder
KALONA - Velma Christner Yoder, 84, of Wellman, formerly of Kalona, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, from complications of surgery.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3 in Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona with the Rev. Lynn Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery in rural Kalona. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.
Mrs. Yoder was born July 25, 1923, in Kalona, the daughter of Chris and Vila (Hershberger) Bontrager. She married Cecil Christner on Feb. 7, 1948. She later married Robert Yoder on Sept. 15, 1990.
