Velma Lou Duwa

Velma Lou Duwa, 78, of Arizona, former of Riverside, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.

    Celebration of life memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside with the Rev. Betsey Neipert officiating.  Private family burial will be at the Riverside Public Cemetery in Riverside.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  A general memorial fund has been established.

    Mrs. Duwa was born July 30, 1931, in Iowa City, the daughter of Cloyd E. and Velma Jane (Younkin) Whitlock.  She married Edward W. Duwa on April 3, 1950, in Quincy, Ill.
