Velma R. Rich August 5, 1903 - February 27, 2004

Velma R. Rich, 100, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2 at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. A memorial has been established to the Pleasant Manor Care Center Activity Fund.

Survivors include her daughter, Marge Nebel of Mt. Pleasant; and two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry Smith; and five sisters, Nona Ridinger, Effie Ross, Fern Ensminger, Gladys Alter and an infant sister.
