Velma Ruth Jarrard

Velma Ruth Jarrard, 88, of Washington, died Monday, June 29, 2009, in Halcyon House in Washington following an extended illness.

    Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington.  Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  The family will receive friends prior to the services from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church or to the Iowa Retired School Personnel Association. 

    Miss Jarrard was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Jackson Township in Washington County, the daughter of Homer G. and Maud (Shaw) Jarrard.
