Velva L. Short
KEOTA - Velva L. Short, 88, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Keota, died Monday, June 30, 2008, in Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria following a brief illness.
Her body will be cremated. No services are planned at this time. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
Mrs. Short was born May 16, 1920 in Linden, the daughter of Evan and Alice (Dickey) Parker. She married John Short on Aug. 6, 1947 in Dallas County.
