Verna M. Rocke February 7, 1916 - October 19, 2003

      Verna Mae Rocke, 87, of Mediapolis, died on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2003, at her home.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Oakville, conducted by the ministers of the church. Burial will be in Apostolic Church Cemetery in Oakville. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped at Morton.

      Survivors include three daughters, Doris Kuntz and Annette Massner, both of Burlington, and Carol Miller of Mt. Union; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Kaufman and Wilma Wiedman, both of Morton, and Hilda Gerst of Mediapolis; and two half brothers, Ivan Steiner and Melvin Steiner, both of Morton.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, four sisters and three brothers.
