Veteus P. Aldrich: September 18, 1908-October 21, 2005

Veteus P. Aldrich, 97, of Riverside, California, formerly of the Mt Union and Burlington, areas died Friday, October 21, 2005, in California.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. Inurnment will be in the Trinity Cemetery.

Born Sept. 18, 1908, in Mt. Union, she was the daughter of Otis Franklin and Edna Lenora "Nora" Lauer Myers. She graduated from Mt. Union High School. On July 22, 1926, she was united in marriage to George Rex Aldrich. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1982.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Sharon) Aldrich of Riverside, CA; three grandchildren, Debbie (Mark) Kupper of Parker, CO, Lori (Scott) Spriggs of Riverside, CA, and Scott (Denise) Aldrich of Riverside, CA; and five great-grandchildren, and by one sister, Joan Stevens of Mt. Pleasant.

Veteus was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister Grace Hudson.

Veteus worked for several years as a supervisor in the National Research Company of Burlington. She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star -New London Chapter # 440.
