Vickie L. Patton

Vickie L. Patton, 53, of Brighton, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at home.

Cremation rites have been accorded at her request. Family and friends may join in a celebration of her life at Washington Sunset Park near the rocket slide at 4 p.m. Thursday until dark, and may bring a covered dish or a donation to help her children.

Gould Funeral Home of Brighton assisted the family.

Ms. Patton was born Dec. 5, 1959, in Chicago, the daughter of Charlie and Chloe Ann Lester Patton, Jr. She married Michael Eugene Allen and they were later divorced.

She grew up in Illinois and attended Illinois schools.

Survivors include her children, Jerrica and Michael Patton both of Brighton, Eric Patton of Washington, Kristal Patton-Miller and spouse Clayton of Cool Ridge, W.Va., Renee Huddleston and spouse Tony of Cookeville, Tenn., Tammy Patton of Leland, N.C.; five grandchildren; her mother Chloe, of Welch, W.Va.; one sister, Lisa Patton of Lubbock, Texas; and one brother, Harold Patton of Statesville, N.C.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles, her father and one brother, Lester Patton.
