Viola May Heisel, 103, of Stockport, passed away April 11, 2021, at Van Buren County Hospital. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Glasgow Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Chaplin officiating. Memorials may

be made to the family and mailed to P.O. Box 34, Stockport, IA 52651.

Viola was born April 10, 1918, in Bettendorf, Iowa, to Axel and Idella (Bell) Stride. She married Charles Heisel Sr. on July 10, 1938. He passed away March 1979. They had six children, Charles L. Heisel Jr. (Lela), Dennis Lee Heisel, Carol Ann Heisel, Kathy Heisel Kranch (Doug), Kevin Lewis Heisel (Carolyn) and Kerry Kirk Heisel (Colleen). Charles, JR. and Kerry are from Stockport, Iowa, Kevin is from Fairfield, Iowa, Kathy is from Mansfield, Ohio.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Dennis, in 1959; daughter, Carol Ann at 15 months; her parents, Axel and Idella Bell Stride; and her sister, Esther Waddell of Davenport, Iowa.

Survived by her children listed above, 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Viola will be remembered for her love of animals. She could tame any of them. She loved flowers and grew several beautiful ones. Some of Viola's other interests were reading, going to garage sales and supporting the Hospital Auxiliary. Most important was spending time with her family.
