Violet E. Woodsmall November 12, 1929 - May 14, 2004

Violet E. Woodsmall, 74, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Friday, May 14, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be after noon on Tuesday, May 18 with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established.

      Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diana and her husband Kenneth Stagers of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Bob and his wife Deanne Woodsmall of St. Peter's, Mo.; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Irene Vantiger of Mt. Pleasant, and Rose Harper of Tampa, Fla.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Orville and Elvin Dickey; and an infant sister.
