Violet Lucille Elmore
Violet Lucille Elmore, 85, formerly of Salem, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2000, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at Salem Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be at the Salem East Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Salem East Cemetery.
Mrs. Elmore was born June 7, 1915, at Salem, the daughter of Albert Ernest and Florence Ida Harmison McDowell. She married Raymond H. Elmore on July 5, 1934, at Berryville, Ark. She was a member of Salem Congregational Church and the Merry Workers Club, and graduated from Salem High School.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin of Mt. Pleasant, Dennis of Carrollton, Texas, and Roy of McKinney, Texas; a daughter, Ruby Mosbarger, of Aurora, Colo.; three sisters, Marge Smith of Salem, Clara Farr of Bollivar, Mo., and Lona Long of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
