Violet M. Burk

      Violet M. Burk, 88, of Wayland, formerly of the Mount Pleasant and Fairfield area, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

      A service is set for 1 p.m. Friday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

      Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Parkview Home or Bethel Mennonite Church.

      Mrs. Burk was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Caleb and Rachel Despain Pickett. She married Otto Frank Burk Sept. 17, 1936, in Jefferson County.
