Virgil D. Haines

      Virgil Dean Haines, 78, of Winfield, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center.

      The funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Winfield United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tom Connors officiating. Burial will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Visitation begins Tuesday from noon until 7 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Winfield First Responders, the Winfield United Methodist Church, or the Sunrise Terrace Center.

      Mr. Haines was born March 13, 1927 in Henry County to Glen and Anna Pearl (Moxley) Haines.
