Virgil E. Watson February 24, 1922 - May 19, 2005

Virgil Everett Watson, 81, of Salem, died May 19, 2005, at his home.

      The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Pastor Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in the Salem East Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon, with family present one hour before the Sunday service. There will be no other visitation. A memorial has been established for Hospice of Central Iowa.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Allen and his wife Jessica Watson of Salem; and Dean and his wife Judy Watson of Zimmerman, Minn.; a daughter, Cheryl and her husband Mel Sanders of Houghton; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and three daughters.
