Virginia Ann Townsend

      WELLMAN - Virginia Ann Townsend, 77, of Wellman died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 in Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman with the Rev. Rich Pippert officiating. Burial will be in Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Wellman Senior Center.

      Mrs. Townsend was born Monday, Dec. 2, 1929, in Wellman, the daughter of John A. and Pearl (McClelland) Canott.
