Virginia L. Chorpening
Virginia L. Chorpening, 81, of Washington, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Washington Care Center in Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 22, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Don Ruffenach officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home, with family present from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Washington County or the Kalona Historical Society.
Mrs. Chorpening was born on May 25, 1922, in Kalona, to Elmer and Mary F. (Mason) Bush. She married Lester "James" Chorpening on Sept. 4, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo.
