Virginia Machholz-Marshall August 26, 1933 - September 19, 2003

      Virginia Lee Butcher "Tootie" Machholz - Marshall, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

      A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Charles U. Tweed officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Southeast Iowa.

      Survivors include a son, Kurtis Machholz of Rochester, Minn.; four daughters, Karen and her husband Bill Wesely of Mt. Pleasant, Kathleen and her husband Ray Burrell of Gladstone, Ill., Karol and her husband Jim Klopfenstein of Lockridge, and Kimberly and her husband Tom Corporon of Goodyear, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bert Butcher Jr. of Burlington, William Butcher of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Butcher of Lowell, and Steven Butcher of Iowa City; and five sisters, Charlotte King and Betty Maddix, both of Mt. Pleasant, Beverly Bartman of Washington, Patricia Weller of Iowa City, and Pamela Schinstock of Salem.

      In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents.
