Vivian Waunita Trueblood
Vivian Waunita Trueblood, 65, of Madison, Wis., died on Sunday, May 21, 2000, of cancer.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, at New London United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at the Winn Funeral Home, 5785 Highway Q, Waunakee, Wis. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Trueblood was born on September 4, 1934 at New London, the daughter of Dean Edward Gapen and Mary Ellen Pauline Jackson. She married Joe R. Trueblood on August 11, 1956, at New London.
She was a member of the Bashford United Methodist Church in Madison and the American Nurses Association.
A graduate of the New London school system and the Burlington Hospital School of Nursing, she continued her professional education at the University of Iowa and Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.
She worked as a nurse for 40 years, 22 of which were with St. Mary?s Hospital Medical Center in Madison. After retiring in 1996, she remained active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, working with teachers in the Waunakee school system.
Survivors include her husband; children, Deborah Pontorno of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Joe Trueblood, Jr., of Howards Grove, Wis.; and two grandsons.
