Walter D.A. Westen

Walter D.A. Westen, 92, of Washington, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, in the Halcyon House in Washington following a brief illness.

    Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at the First Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating.  Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church where the family will receive friends from  5 to 8 p.m.   Memorials have been established for the First Baptist Church, Halcyon House Good Samaritan Fund or Hospice of Washington County.  The Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is handling the arrangements.

    Mr. Westen was born Oct. 25, 1917, in rural Washington, the son of Martin and August (Zieglowsky) Westen.  He married Florence Graber on May 4, 1938, in Washington.
