Walter H. Miller September 9, 1925 - August 26, 2003

      Walter Harrison Miller Jr., 77, of Mt. Pleasant, died suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with a Masonic service at 2:30 p.m. Family will receive friends until 6 p.m. Memorials have been established for Hope Haven of Burlington and First United Methodist Church.

      Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Patricia and her husband Aaron Coe of Mt. Pleasant, Joan and her husband Tom Padley of Marion and Teresa Miller of Burlington; a son, Jim and his wife Carmen Miller of Scott City, Kan.; and five grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lura Hess.
