Walter L. Kron

KALONA Walter Leroy Kron, 89, of Kalona, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Pleasantview Home in Kalona.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with the Rev. David Brownfield, Ph.D., officiating. Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home.

Mr. Kron was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Riverside, the son of Roy and Della (Kucera) Kron. He married Dorothy Kolosiek on Aug. 17, 1948, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond.

He served in the Army during the Korean War. He farmed, did television repair and enjoyed working outdoors. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Surviving is one son, Randy Kron of Kalona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy, in 2006; and one daughter, Cathy Kron.
