Walter N. Adam

      Walter N. Adam, 87, of Fairfield, formerly of rural Batavia, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

      A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield. Interment will be in Eldon Cemetery in Eldon.

      Open visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Knights of Columbus Rosary at 5:30 p.m. followed by Prayers for the Christian Wake at 6 p.m., followed by family visitation.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Building Fund or to the Adam family, who will give the memorials to various local charities.

      Mr. Adam was born May 15, 1919, in Keokuk County, the son of William and Christina Greiner Adam. He married Mary Catherine Pacha Feb. 6, 1945.
