Walter W. 'Doc' Neff
Walter W. "Doc" Neff, 89, of 1205 East Washington Street in Washington died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington following a lengthy illness.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Robert Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery in Wayland. Friends may call anytime today at the Jones and Eden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Washington County Hospice.
Mr. Neff was born May 11, 1910, in Wayland, the son of Henry and Nora Tucker Neff. He married Ivy Marion on Aug. 26, 1932, in Wayland. He lived in Washington most of his life and spent 20 years in Las Vegas, Nev. He attended Cottonwood School near Wayland. He enjoyed woodworking and making miniature crafts. He farmed and raised hogs north and west of Washington. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Washington; one son, Jerry Neff of Henderson, Nev.; two brothers, Sam Neff of Washington and Forrest Neff of Wayland; one sister, Eva Garrett of Washington; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
