Waltraud Jager Nelson passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020, (known variously as Ursh'l, Traudl and Trudy). She was born on Dec. 9, 1942, in Leskau, Kreis Plan, Sudeten Deutschland, to Josef Franz Jager and Maria Franciska Weschta.

She spent her early childhood in Ergoldsbach, Germany, where the family had relocated to at the end of the war. She lost her mother at the young age of 6, and was raised by her older sister Maria Winkler. Trudy moved to Munich at the age of 14 to attend the Schwedenheim where she studied clothing design and worked at Mode Ala Schwabing Muenchen.

Trudy married Larry L. Nelson (U.S. Air force) in May 1963 and spent 20 years as a military spouse and seamstress while raising Michelle and Curtis, finally settling in Moreno Valley, California. where she went on to become a successful sales rep, retail store owner, Realtor and investor.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Nelson; her children and their families: Michele Nelson (Ulrich, Erika, Andrea, Michael, Naomi), Curtis Nelson (Stacey, Amanda, Elizabeth). Trudy also is survived by her sister, Anne Marie Rock; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Franz Jager and Maria Winkler.
