Warren E. Hoit January 7, 1930 - September 20, 2003

      Warren E. Hoit, 73, of Burlington, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died at 3:39 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the chapel with family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

      Survivors include his companion of many years, Vivian L. Masden of Burlington; and a sister, Arlene Scherer of New London.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.
