Warren Escher, 86, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at Sunrise Terrace Nursing and Rehab Center in Winfield, Iowa. Celebration of life services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Father Bernie Weir officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 2:00 until 3 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will take place at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Riverside, Iowa, at a later date. Warren was born Jan. 10, 1935, on the family farm. He was the son of Paul and Marie (Greaser) Escher. Warren attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Richmond, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Friese on Sept. 28, 1955, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington.

Warren farmed all of his life. He loved his family, working in the garden and planting extra for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine Escher of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Kathleen Cox of Marshalltown, Iowa; son, Larry (Patty) Escher of Winfield, Iowa; daughter, Marlene (Rick) Rook of Marshalltown, Iowa; son, Marvin Escher of North Liberty, Iowa; son, Don (Janelle) Escher of Washington, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roger (Mary Jo) Escher of Washington, Iowa.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Phyllis Escher, Beulah Embree and Mary Louise Escher; and one brother, Mark Escher.
