Warren H. Ford
Warren H. Ford, 82, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at his home in Muscatine.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Martin of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.
Mr. Ford was born July 25, 1917, in Henry County, the son of Robert A. and Hattie M. Brownell Ford. He married Evelyn R. Phillips Woodhouse on May 6, 1955, in Ft. Madison. A past member of the US Trotting Association, Ford owned and raced harness horses. He was a paint contractor for forty years.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Larry Ford and Judith A. Small of Muscatine, and Linda S. Vargus of Greeley; three stepdaughters, Ruth Philpot of Chester, Ark., Joyce M. Dunphy of Wakefield, R.I., and Nancy A. Bloomer of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Lilly Mae Short of Tarpon Bay, Fla.; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Shirley Reinier and Nancy Ford; one son, James S. Ford; four brothers, Roy, Robert, Floyd, and William; two sisters, Flossie King and an infant sister; and two grandsons and two granddaughters.
