Wayne Rich, age 88, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, June 29, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Wayne was born July 11, 1931, near Wayland, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Flossie (Sammons) Rich. He enlisted in the United States Marines serving his country during World War II. Returning to this area following his service he worked most of his life in the excavating business.

His family includes his daughter, Linda Drayfahl (Wes); grandchildren, Jerry Drayfahl (Sam), Tracie Rock (Tim), Kimberly Axsom (Rob) and Tim Drayfahl (Missy); 9 great-grandchildren, his sister, Millie Manning; and best friend, Dan.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, companion, Darlene Jackson; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
