Wayne W. Miller

Wayne W. Miller, 87, of South Dakota, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at his home in Miller.

      Mr. Miller was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Milford, Neb., the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Schweitzer Miller. He married Mildred Rediger in Milford, Dec. 12, 1937. They farmed in Nebraska until 1950 when they moved to Gann Valley where they ranched and helped start the Miller Mennonite Church. They moved to St. Lawrence in 1964 and to Miller in 1999. They have attended the First Church of the Nazarene since the 1980s.

      Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary E. and her husband Robert Nixon of New York, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Penny Miller of Madison, Wis.; three sons, Russell W. Miller of Silver Bay, Minn., Randall C. and his wife Marsha Miller of Elkhart, Ind., and Jeffrey L. Miller of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Miller of Wayland.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Herley Miller; a sister, Velma Roth; and two brothers, Milton and Victor Miller.
