Wayne W. Stransky

      KALONA-Wayne W. Stransky, 88, of rural Wellman, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at home, following a brief illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m., at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with the Rev. Lynn Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Extended visitation will be on Monday, from 7 a.m., until the time of services. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Washington County.

      Mr. Stransky was born on July 5, 1915, in Wellman, to Albert and Christina (Nejedly) Stransky. He married Juanita Batterson on Feb. 11, 1937, in Nashua.
