Wesley Mart Reese, 55, of DeWitt, IA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Visitation was held 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, Decemer 2, at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge, IA. A memorial service to celebrate his life was held 10 am, Monday, December 3, at DeWitt United Methodist Church, DeWitt, IA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chambers Funeral Home to establish a scholarship for nursing students in Wes' name.

Wes was born August 11, 1963 in Iowa City, the son of Larry Reese of Bettendorf, IA, and Adele (Geisendorfer) Reese of Washington, IA.

Wes graduated from Highland High School, Riverside, IA, in 1981. He married Connie Mott in 1987. They have two daughters, Tasha Reese, Cedar Rapids, Charity (Devin) Lindsey, Platte City, MO; and a grandson, Wesley Seeman. Wes has a sister, Gailia Spenner of Fruitland, IA, and half-brother, Dirk Reese, of Carthage, MO.

Wes had been a Registered Nurse for over 30 years with Mercy Hospital in Clinton and Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. Wes received two Daisy awards, the highest award given in nursing, in recognition of his exceptional nursing skills and care of his patients.

He recently earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and had been a Clinical Instructor with Eastern Iowa Community College, Davenport, IA.

Wes enjoyed furniture making, fishing, mowing his lawn, laughing with his mom, and playing with his grandson. He is missed.
