Wilbur Asa Harter

Wilbur Asa Harter, 95, of Burlington, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Richard Boyd officiating. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday until the time of the service, at the funeral home with family present. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for Great River Medical Center Hospice in Burlington.

Mr. Harter was born on Feb. 21, 1909, in Waynesville, Ill., to William Asa and Grace Harriet (Brallier) Harter. On Nov. 2, 1931, he married Arvilla Louise McCall in Monmouth, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1980. On April 14, 1984, he married Mildred Wheeler in Hedrick.
